Our Story
Hunt's Battlefield Fries and Café opened in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in 2001. Scott and Donna came from York, PA and Lancaster, PA and are accustom to great food at a reasonable price.
Scott started with his fresh cut fry business in Stone Harbor, New Jersey in the mid 1990's and that is where he met Donna. After 6 years in Stone Harbor, Scott came back to York, PA and drove delivery trucks and tractor trailers for a few years until Scott and Donna came to Gettysburg for an evening out. They came across this house with a store front on Steinwehr Avenue and decided to reopen the fresh cut fries business again. Along with the fresh cut fries, they decided to add some good sandwiches to the menu; Scott has some awesome cheesesteaks and hamburgers. Since we are on the battlefield, that is why we came to be known as Battlefield Fries. Hunt's also stayed with a tradition that started at the beach and continues here in Gettysburg with old fashioned glass bottled sodas. You will find some of the long forgotten sodas such as Moxie, sarsaparilla, birch beer, ginger beer, and more. We have added Vermont's finest coffee "Green Mountain Coffee Roasters." Along with homemade country breakfast and fresh squeezed orange juice that's to die for! We also serve Lancaster's finest Turkey Hill ice cream, which goes great with our homemade milkshakes. If you want a great lemonade or orangeade, we squeeze the lemons and oranges right before your eyes. So come to Hunt's to enjoy some great food, awesome atmosphere, or just to watch the world go by! |
